Superb! (Your excellence is somewhat exasperating BH! )

I'm just surprised you didn't pay attention to that obvious prop diameter thing. That's the first thing I noticed when I saw your drawing. I thought: What is this? A joke? There's gotta be at least 15 cm missing on that prop!

Yep, I'll never hear the end of this one

Grubby, I'm leaning towards adjustments of this kind too. I think I need to reshade the bomb. It's a very light gray in reality, lighter than the tan undersides, so I don't think I can go darker. But the top-lit comment gives me an idea that I'll have to try. I've got the clever (maybe too clever for me) reflected light going. That means you've got to have reflected shadows too. Perhaps the bomb should be more of a side lighting? I'll try that. I still want to decrease the reflected light on the lower edge of the tank too.

Interesting about the drop tank, they were made of either laminated wood or strips of bamboo. Perhaps weirder than the US cardboard tanks?

Why can't we just have a nice, traditional, French-style beheading? Guns are dangerous, noisy and messy. Never heard of a guillotine accident, or of a guillotine near-miss or survivor.

Or Guillotine Collatoral Damage for that matter. Sure the might be some splatter damage to dresses and frocks but that's about it.

Re: New from the Zero factory

Better. I reckon it still needs to be darker. I know the bomb is a light colour, but my instinct is to BURY it in shadow. Maybe try simply duplicating the bomb shading layer, that will leave the highlights intact and keep the light colour.

Oh, and fix up that dreadful texturing, it looks all worn and beaten up!

Re: New from the Zero factory

Thanks Grubby, that does work better. It doesn't look quite how I think it to look but it fits overall much better. The only other possibility is to make the bomb a bit lighter overall, keeping the contrast between dark and light at the same level. I think I want to sit it aside and come back to it later.
