Re: Ever closer . . . .

Nice G-4 Jester, Camo effect on this is superb. The Italian squadron markings seem so much more artistic than other nations.

The photograph of Ludwigs AC does show a stronger cammo application suggesting the colours are darker, but I feel this is more down to slightly over burning of the photographic process. I'm not always right, but I do try my best to get the basics as close as I can.

I will play with the colours too, as I think I have over bleached the colours.
BUT I LIKE IT! The photo may have been retouched or filtered. I really like that you did your own interpretation rather than doing what other have done. I think it's really nice looking!
Sunlight, dirty vs clean aircraft and the kind of film, you can never tell
And if anyone is interested, here's the photo we're talking about-

Re: Ever closer . . . .

Hmm here is mine----> you can see where things get interesting. . . . .not quite the same photograph but probably on the same flight.

I also noticed after . . .the yellow bib comes up more and missed off the bomb rack all together.
Fixed image soon.
Updated so far---->

Re: Ever closer . . . .

Always nice Jester!...
Don't want to sound picky..but the ( for the sake of a better description) little yellow triangle on the fuselage above the rank marking looks a little bigger in the picture. ?..Or is it just an optical illusion. Looks like it is almost touching the rank mark.
I know.. I know..shut up.

Re: Ever closer . . . .

Yeah I think the Luftwaffe had 3 sizes for these, small medium and for the blind.
This is probably the medium sized jobs, unlike the ones on Graf crate.
And whilst we are about, does the aerial mast look smaller too? More like the G-6 late maybe?

Re: Ever closer . . . .

Man I like these profiles, you have 109's down pat. I'm never going to attempt a 109.

But with regard to the rest of the thread, I have no idea what you guys are talking about in this thread.(care to explain it in small words for me?)
I guess that its safe to assume that the profile posted above is the same as the two period images posted. Too my eye (and PhotoShops ruler)both the aerial mast and loop look to be the wrong size in comparison to the photos, too tall for the former and too short for the later, which appears that it should be approximately 75% of the masts height. Same goes for the triangle octane decal, it looks way to small in the profile. I know its a odd way to work these things out but it works for me when I'm having proportion/scale issues.

But hey, I'm the furthest thing from a experten, and of course if its another airframe be discussed, disregard my post in its entirety.

Did I mention its a super profile?
