Re: Naked Ladies Beware!!!

I have started looking for interesting schemes to apply to the C model, anybody care to make a recommendation? or have some good reference material that they could post.

Apologies to Matt for the misleading thread title...

Re: Naked Ladies Beware!!!

Naked no longer.

I haven't posted any images here in a while, and thought now would be a good time to do so. I reckon that I am now about 90% done with 90% to go (aircraft restoration joke there for those that missed it) so go easy on me. There is much adjustment to layer placement/opacity and adding of minor details before I will consider it to be finished. I have started on another profile, but I am determined to finish this (for a change) before I get too far into the next project.

Re: Naked Ladies Beware!!!

I haven't posted an update on these for some time, and now that I have nearly completed the first version minus the usual tweaks and adjustments, and I thought now would be a god time.

Below is where this profile is at now, I have always wanted to do this and when I saw mclaings p-39 I knew that I just had too. Still very much a WIP but you get the idea where its going, when scarce time allows.
Does anybody have a clear image of the firewall forward of a Mustang engine bay?

Re: Naked Ladies Beware!!!

Fantastic profile GFR! The fin and props don't look as well done, but I suppose you're not finished with them. Also, the 108 gallon tank looks a bit odd-shaped IMO.

Your NMF rendering is superb! As for the innards, good luck: you've given yourself one heck of a challenge there.

Re: Naked Ladies Beware!!!

Still working my way slowly with this one, as time allows. I have done a little revision inc new exhaust bank/stacks and added quite a bit more grime I am interested to here if you guys think the grime has gone to far with this one, I tend to be like my profiles to have that lived in look. Still much to do including a drawing a new Merlin.

Re: Naked Ladies Beware!!!

GFR,

Very nice! Terrific job.

I'll take a prop shadow on the spinner, per Jarink's Mustang thread.

Bring on more!

Re: Naked Ladies Beware!!!

I like it the way it's weathered right there. Late (Merlin) WW2 Mustangs were usually not that dirty (Allison-engined and Korean War ones were), so I don't think you'd want to do much more, unless that specific aircraft was very dirty.
