Pop-up

Since a couple of weeks we have a pop-up on this site.
It is caused by our counter.
They say that it sould average 1 to 2 times per visitor a week.
But we notice that one visitor seldom sees it and another sees it almost every visit.

We are looking for other free stats to solve this.
If you know a good stats site which is free, please let us know.

Update:
Since we also got a report of pop-ups that tried to install spyware, we have removed the counter. This should stop the pop-ups and all other effects they might have.

Pop ups may not always be caused by the host site. If these individual get pop ups it may well be that they have a "parasite", virus for lack of a better term, that is on their system that pops random advertising windows.

I use to have this problem with my computer at work until I did a good system cleaning using several different kinds of "killer" programs.

I worked my solution out with crapcleaner, spybot, trojanhunter, and a couple others I can not recall. I run crapcleaner after every day's use of my system and have remained fairly clean of any of these attacks.

I know this pop-up is caused by the counter. Many people of other sites complain about it and they also state it on their site.

Now I got a report that one of these pop-ups tried to install spyware. To be safe I just removed it from the site.
I don't want to have the risk to be involved with installing spyware.

It seems that not everyone got pop-ups when entering the site. At least I havent had one. Could it be a geographically related instead?

It took weeks for Adlabs as well to get one, but last week he finally got it.
I get it some weeks not at all other weeks almost every time.
