Otterkins, just keep loging in to this forum and go back over the early posts. That's the first thing I did when I discovered this wonderful site and its participants. I spent two days pouring over the past forum posts and I picked up a lot that way. You also see the progression of pics and the way different people work. The tutes are great too.
