That's true for some aircraft like the P-51, Bf-109 etc. But you also need to understand the high placement of the exhaust for the MiG 3 which had placed it out of the boundary effects from the wing root. Lastly, I followed the stain pattern from the real MiG 3 "White 17" that flies in Russia currently!
