Jester, this is my first try too, it's been interesting. I have been doing a few test with rendering parts to make sure I've got my lines set correctly but I'm basically just working on the lines now.

You're correct Joe

I'm using PS right now because I'm faster and more comfortable with PS's line tools than in Illustrator. My plan is to set the lines up for use in rendering in PS but to bring them into Illustrator, make the needed adjustments to how the lines work together, and do a line drawing in Illustrator. The real challenge is going to be setting up the paths to be various line thicknesses to emphasize different parts. I'm looking forward to making an ordinary line drawing into a subtle work of art
Giant, the way things are going now I'm thinking Illustrator and Photoshop will merge together someday
Do I have too much time on my hands? YES! But it had to be done
